First post here! Great forums.. I've been lurking here for a few months now ever since I decided to make audi my first choice

I'm seriously considering purchasing a b6 a4 in a month or two and I'm trying to do as much research as possible before I get it.

One thing I couldn't find is whether I can control the radio and cd player through the steering wheel. I know a lot of cars have this feature but I looked at a few A4 models and their steering wheels don't seem to have it. In some of the pictures I saw (mostly on ebay), I saw some buttons but I think they related with the tiptronic?

Anyway, just curious if there a particular year/model that has the controls?

I'm particularly thinking about getting a 02 a4 because it will probably be the cheapest, but is there any major difference between the 02 and 03 ?

yes you can control the radio with the steering wheel controls.

 

Hmm.. and the option is on all B6 models? I just know i saw a steering wheel that didn't have any buttons to the side of it.

Oh well - if it has it, thats great for me

 

its not on all cars, but the ones with the controls on the steering wheel definately control the radio

 

it's an option..
it's been an option for alot longer than '02 also, so if you insist on having steering wheel controls, they're out there.

 

you can always retrofit the steering wheel
