Trade or Repair my A4
I'm the orginal owner of 99.5 A4. The car currently has 120k miles. The only major repair has been replacing the timing belt at 60k. I've also repaired the front brakes. I'm on my 5th set of tires, and I've changed the oil every 5k. The body is in Fair to slightly Good condition.
Currently, I have the following instrument lights on Check Engine, ABS, and Flashing Brake. My local Audi dealership said the Check Engine was definitely an instrumentation failure. Not sure about the ABS and Brake lights.
My question... Based on this information, should I try to repair the car or is it time to trade it in? Thanks for any feedback or opinions. Is my timing belt in danger of failing again?

Ok then you should be good. I have been told by many people that they are good on the 1.8T for 80K miles. So you should be good for another 20K. As for the trading in part. Take it to a brake place and see if they can figure out whats going on with your brake warning lights.

...or is it a 2.8?
Yes, the timing belt could go and should be changed. ABS and brakes may just be due to worn pads, or it could be worse.
My thought is that if you have had the car and have had so few problems, why not keep it? You know what has been done to it, you have maintained it and it has treated you well overall. I am the kind of guy who of he finds a car that has been good to him tends to stick with it. If it just gives me headach after headache, I dump it. Sounds like you got a keeper. If you get a new car, you also get alot of questions.

id keep it too, you said you only changed the front brakes and it has 120k, so rear brakes are probably the reason for the brake light. id do the timing belt also. abs...i dont know, good luck.
i dont kno man if your starting to have instrument failures or computer problems its gonna be a big hassle for you to pay. For the amount the dealer charges per hour it is rediculous, they will tell you they keep finding certain problems and in the mean time they are still charging you, its a rip off. With that many miles I would sell it and start a new project...or just a daily driver audi....either way I wouldnt want to hear latter on that you are spending butt loads of money because you decided to keep it. Just my thought
First off do not take it to the audi dealer to be fixed - find a nice local shop that specializes in euro's. Have them take a look. it will save you money just by doing that. If you just kinda getting tired of having the same car for the past 7 years, you can very easily do some simple mods that will make your car feel brand new.(chip, Diverter valve, exhaust) I say fix it - your not going to get what the car is worth to you and it will run for a long time after this.
