Trailer Wiring on 2006 models
Hi there,
I just bought a 2006 Audi A4 Avant with the 2.0 motor.
I installer a trailer hitch but now come the question of the wiring for the light. In the manual I see a circuit breaker for the trailer but no more infos.
Anyone can give me an hit of the kit I can use to connect my lights and perhaps a schema or else.
Is the car pre-wirred ?
tks

The only thing I pulled with mine was an engine lift. Because it was on gravel and 3 of us couldn't get the lift to move with the Ford V6 hanging from it.
good luck on finding something though.

ok I checked some stuff in my light block at the back of the car.
I got a 4 pin connector comming in and I got 3 bulbs in the block.
One is the white one for the reverse gear ( not used for the trailer)
Second one is for turn signal
But the third one has 2 filaments in it one for the tail light and the other one for brake light. ( this one looks like a problem)
Any idea if a converter can fit for this kind of connections

I'm looking for a hitch to my A4 avant. What brand is yours, and how much was it?
Your hitch supplier should have the adapter you need. DON'T hook up directly to the rear light cluster, you're likely to cause lots of error codes.
www.Hitchweb.com has some adaptors for Audi. I have no idea how they hook up tho.
Some Audis has a hitch control unit, with wiring harness. You need to program the car to tell it you have a trailer hitch installed.
I was told by a mechanic that, if the harness is in place, you should find it in front of the spare tyre well, or by the back of the rear seats, not by the rear lights. But that was for my 2002 Avant.
