first get the car scanned, also just a suggestion, it may be you tranny mounts. i had that same feeling that the tranny was about to fall out and if i would accidentaly dump the clutch or let off too fast, it would often send my car into limp mode.

either find someone with a vag tool or take it to autozone, the reasone the car is sluggish is because the eninge is in limp mode. also the tranny is computer controlled it has the TCU in the pass side panel. it may actaully be that the tranny is in limp mode. if autozone can read the tranny codes and clear them it shoudl take of the problem. if not how far are you from the chicago burbs, i got a scan tool that should do the job.

thats just freaking great, i just moved out of that area a few years back, so if need be getting out there shouldnet be too hard. are you near the airport. also is the car drivable to the point were you can meet half way, im pretty much working 3 jobs 6 days a week and just one class shy of full time student.
