Default Transmission Problem?

I recently started having a problem with my 2002 A4 1.8T (CVT). When driving at low speeds the car jerks a bit every few seconds. You can see the rpm's jump a little when this happens. It's more pronounced when accelerating and less pronounced at higher speeds, but it's always there. The only time it doesn't happen is the first few minutes after the car is started. I've taken it to 2 different Audi dealers and they have no idea. I'm not sure if it's the transmission, throttle, engine, or what. Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

Thanks for the help!

If you have taken it to 2 different audi dealers they are either playing dumb or they really are dumb.
Thats one of the most common complaints on the CVT transmission, there is a world wide TSB for that which required removing the transmission, reversing the imput shaft (put together wrong at the factory)and changing the clutch pack from a 5 speed to a 6 speed.
Basically its a complete re-build. Tell them there is a TSB for it and you heard it from an Audi Master certified/A4 certified mechanic and quit being a bitch and do the work.
If they don't have anyone thats up to the task complain to audi of north america how retarded that dealer is and get someone there that can.

I have the same problem, but I am modded, would they give me a hard time about it? Also this is covered even if the car isnt under warranty correct?

Sorry for the late replies, but no they won't give you any problems because they probably won't know it is modded (AKA chip)

It won't be covered if the car is not under factory warranty, its bad for the imput shaft to keep driving it.

Your not gonna like me...........but A LOT!
5+ hours to pull it out, 3 hours to build it, and about $500 for parts.
All in all about $1,500 depending on what state/labor costs are.
