Default transmission seal bell housing leak

A4 1999.5 1.8T Q, AEB engine, AT (DVT), 99K miles. I pulled the engine to do a swap/rebuild (blown turbo for sure and probably sludge?) and found "oil/tranny fluid" in the bell housing and inside the Torque Converter. I can see fluid settled under tranny shaft too. Is this a simple seal replacement? If so how hard is it to replace? If this front seal is bad, what else might neeed replaced?

All of a sudden, its a project car!

Thanks!

Its the torque converter seal, you can replace that but you need the correct install tool to press it in.
You can buy it at the dealer for about $20 or so.

Thanks! Should I be worried about seals at the other end of the tranny now, or wait until I see a wet spot?

No the tail housing seal can easilly be replaced by taking out the prop shaft and popping it out with a screwdriver or pry bar. I would wait onthat seal.

Any tips for getting the fluid out of the torque converter?

Yea, I was afraid it was goning to be that "easy". It reminds me of trying to get all the oil out of an oil filter. Step 1: Turn it upside down... Step 2: repeat step 1 a hundred times.
