Default Transmisson slipping

Hey guys; don't know if this is taboo or just bad luck, but I changed the oil in my '99 A4 yesterday and ever since then it seems that my transmission keeps slipping. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with changing the oil, probably just bad timing but I am paranoid about crap like that. My question is where on earth is the auto tranmission fluid check located and how would you recommend me going about diagnosing/fixing the problem? The slip is most noticable when you come to a complete standstill and it seems the car is jumping out of 1st into 2nd and so the car just lurches forward almost as if my foot slipped off the brake, but that's just it, it doesn't but it still goes forward..... Thx in advance.

You drained your tranny fluid. Get it towed to a shop where someone will be able to tell the difference between an oil pan and a tranny pan. This way they will be able to drain 4 of the 8 qts of oil in your engine, and fill up your bone dry tranny with some tranny fluid. Id recomend taking it to the dealer though. Most shops dont follow the correct filling procedure for the tranny.

No B5's arent sealed. I changed my fluid/filter not long ago. I think kthe B6 has a sealed pan though. The tranny drain plug can easily be mixed up with the oil drain plug if youre a serious noob.

I am pretty sure I probably did drain the tranny fluid then, but where in relation to that plug is the oil plug? I've changed oil before but obviously this is the first time on this car.

The oil drain plug is in the VERY front of your car. What engine do you have?

Yeah, there should be a black plastic belly pan looking thingthat needs to be removed to get to the oil pan drain plug thingy. Minor detail. I seriously hope you didnt put on many miles with having no tranny fluid. You can pick up a used tip tranny for about $800 used..... Just FIY.
