Default trouble starting 97 1.9tdi

Hi wondering if anyone can help me with this i've a a4 1.9tdi (110) it starts ok when cold but after running the car and it is warm i need to leave the car to cool down before it will start again it turns over but doesn't seem to catch also the glow plug light flashes when the car is running. I took it to an auto electrician and he told me the MAP sensor was coming up as faulty i replaced this and he cleared the fault and now its a fuel shut of solenoid has anyone any ideas or had this problem thanks in advance.

fuel pump injector timing could need resetting or the solenoid is bad, also check the wiring ( other problems could be bad glow plugs ) not expensive to replace and easy job

I don't have much data on diesels because I don't work on them much, but I do have ideas of what the problem could be so ill have a go, so the glow plugs have made a small difference now the problem could be a fuel leak letting air into the system so needing to pressure up each time you try to start the engine, have you recently changed the fuel filter?? if yes ensure its sealed properly - next each injector has a pipe going from one injector to the other this is a lubrication for the injectors ( are they wet with diesel ) these pipes are a pig for corroding letting air into the system you can buy a service kit for them which includes a black rubber cap which is at the end of the fuel rail ( another area where the rubber decades ).

basically what I think is happening is air is entering the system when its been switched off which will make it hard to start so any leaks need to be fixed

changed the pipes they needed it but still the same how easy is it to do the fuel pump timing is it a case of slackening the 3 screws and giving it a slight turn or is it better getting it done by a garage??

Thanks.
