Trubo Audi v6?

RE: Trubo Audi v6?
I wonder why there isn't a turbo kit made for the 30v 2.8 engine...seems to me you could make some crazy power with it.
Does anyone know why there isn't a kit made, aka a reason this engine wouldn't hold boost well?

what is the compression ratio? That engine is probably similar to the jetta vr6 which would melt if you ran boost through the engine without changing most of the inside components.
supercharger is a better bet. always on builds power through rpm range

It's 10.5:1
I realize the internals will have to be reworked, but the internals on a 1.8t also need quite a bit of help if you want to be in the 500hp range. A buddy of mine just dumped about 7k into his 1.8t engine to hold 500whp, of course I want the same or better in an awd car so I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to get there.

I agree, it's definitely one of those "show me the dyno" things. According to him, it was built to rev up to 10k and has a 4bar map sensor with 580cc injectors...all this with a bb Gt35 turbo. Too bad he won't tell me much more than that.
Well, looks like I'm at the place of talking to some engine people to see how low the compression would have to be to make some serious HP and what other internals need help.
I'll report back if anyone's interested.
