Is it really expensive to maintain?

Is the AWD really the best on the market? I have a subaru impreza wrx. Their is awd is nice esp. in this recent snow storm but i hate the roaring sound i hear coming from the rear diff.

what model year is better 03/04/05?

what are the common issues with the a4?

I hear changing the timing belt is problematic. Is this correct?
