Turbo??
but if you build it..new cams, low compression pistons and rings
those could be reiggen rockets with the displacement they have. my friend with the m3 was pulling 14 psi. the stock hp is 190. before he hit his powerband he was at 190 hp then he blew his head gasket. im not sure the dyno after that

which m3 is this casue E36 has 240hp and E46 has 333hp
and yea u can upgrade the parts but thats gonna cost you so much
and u see he blew something, a gasket but it adds to my point that NA engines are not designed to handle boost that well, its possible but is it worth it

he was either a 94 or 95. basically teh last year it wasnt computer controlled. but ya, after he got that head gasket, he was good to go
of course, when u ad more HP, you take more wear and damage. thats all part of modding a car. personally, i prefer NA cars over forced induction. they sound soo d@mn nice when you do it right. a good bark...snappy revs...smooth broad power band.

It makes no sense for the amount of money youre gunna put into a DIY setup, not to mention the down time if its your DD. Ya it would be cool.. But you are talking about tearing the engine appart and dumping TON$ of money into it in order to make it effective AND semireliable. If it were cost effective, more people would be doing it and manufacturers would have a kit readily available. Yes its possible (take back previous statement^), but not a great idea in general terms for most people.
eh. well again most experiance i have is from older cars. which generally are easier. my friend with the M3 spent little money. did his own pipeing. a lot of it boils down to the engine, how much space there is in the engine compartment, and how mechanically inclined you are i guess
I'd super charge and exhaust... That will make you faster than most cars in your class. Then do the rest as cosmetic mods.. What do you need 400hp for?
You do realize you have a 3.0 Audi right? Cause theres so many other cars to go with for the HP you listed.

Well, I appreciate your opinions... but time and money aren't REALLY what I'm worried about... it's something I want to do... if there is anyone that actually has some experience doing this, I would love to hear from them. Thanks
lol............ dude just sell ur car and buy a s4. it would dumb to spend all that money and if not perfectly tuned your 3.0t will nolonger run.
