a lot of great companies make cat-back exhausts for the a4 techtonics tuning makes an awesome one. so does borla and a few other manu. anyways if you go turbo back you will be building a test pipe and finding a place for a cat sensor. I would stick with a cat-back exhaust. check out this website their exhuast is awesome i have had it 4 months and love it! tech tonics tuning

Does anyone know if there is a difference between a tip exhaust, and a manual exhaust? Do some fit, but others don't??

I was goign to do a light weight pulley kit when i did my timing belt and was advised against it. I guess the weight of the stock pullys are important to the 1.8t engine and can possibly cause damage. Just what people here told me so i stayed away from it.

Now my question........ Why does the exhaust for the tiptronic not include the down pipe? is the stock one sufficient? or do i need to go buy a 2.5" down pipe also?
Just want to make sure i got my understanding right, the setup goes:
Manifold > Turbo > Cat > Down Pipe > Baffle > Muffler
is that correct?

You can get a cat back kit for your car that includes a downpipe almost all kits do you will just need to specify that you have a TIP trans becase the pipe is bent different to fit around the TIP trans.
