Default turbo issues

alright so i was having problems with my 01 1.8t as some of you know. it was ticking and no boost. so i take it to my garage and start it up and then it starts blowing mad white smoke. I pretty much think it is a turbo problem. there was oil in the intake so i think the seal blew.

white smoke is burning coolant. oil burns blue or black.

if a seal was blown it would explain the issues because these turbos arnt bearing but rther use iol pressure to lubricate and allow the turbine to spin

the seal being blown would make sense.. k03's are oil/coolant fed.. so the white smoke was burnt coolant

When I had a ticking it was becuase the wastegate valve on my turbo was shot and would not close all the way. This would also cause your boost issue. I ended up replacing it with a K04
