I dont know what the heck is going on with my car but when i accelerate my car (01'1.8tq 5spd) it hesitates and flutters which seems to be the DV but the turbo glows bright red in short trips with out beating on it at all. There also is a clutch like smell comming from it but its not the clutch cuz i just replaced it and its not slipping at all. Please help of possible thanks!!!

 

Get the engine codes. Just because it doesn't have a check engine light doesn't mean something's not wrong. Autozone will pull the codes for free.

 

I have a po411 code for the dv the main thing im worried about is the smell and how hot my turbo is getting. Any help would be great thanks!!!

 

P0411 is for the combination valve, not the diverter valve.

The turbo gets red hot real fast.
