turbo programming

Default turbo programming

ok metaphoricaly speaking if i get a DV, carbon fiber intake, borla exhaust with down pipe and my gaic chip will i be able to just get a KO4 turbocharger put on without the programming? i thought that the chip will give u the program u need then thats it just upgrade the turbo. people r telling me that u need more programming when u get the KO4 put on. i would like to know if i need more programing again? i have a 99 1.8T manual ne advice guys please

1. "metaphoricaly" or even hypothetically , you don't need a carbon fiber intake.

2. If you have GIAC K03 programming, you will need to upgrade to GIAC K04 programming. GIAC however gives (or at least used to give) a 100-200 dollar discount to owners of K03 programming.

Technically the car will "run" without the K04 programming but you risk seriously hurting your car.
