was looking into the k04 because my k03 is only producing 4lbs boost. figuring the wastegate is stuck open. i have found on ecs tuning the kkk and on kinetic i have found a borge warner. there is a price difference of almost 200 bucks. was wondering which is the btter one to go with. one that will not break down on me cause i use the car everyday.

a kkk k04 is a k04 anyway you look at it as long as they are the same model and the same condition wise i see no reason not to go with the cheaper one

 

but if u go with the k04 ur gonna need programin for it

 

i know i will need the giac k04 software for it. i was told until i do it, i can run with the software i have now but i wont get the performance that im supposed. i was basically concerned about the quality between the 2 brands. so you guys think it doesnt matter. does anyone have k04?

Chip software? you mean like for the k03 no its not the same as for a k04 GIAC makes both and so does APR but GIAC is by far the best

 

THere's only one brand. KKK k04-015. Borg warner and kkk are the same thing I'm pretty sure.

 

so you guys are saying that borgewarner is just an sub company of kkk. they are exactly the same turbo. cant understand that because of the 200$ price difference. but, then again you guys have not steered me on the wrong path yet. so i i wll take your word on it. by any chance does anyone have a borge warner? if so are they happy with it?

oh 1 more thing. the software, not sure how this works. if i were to get the giac ecu chip software, is that the same as the k04. or, will i have to do the giac ecu software and the giac k04 software. sorry bout the noob question. thanks
