Default RE: Which turbo to select

What's the difference between ko4 and gt2x and what about the answer on 3rd question.
Is it possible to run k04 on the stock software?
Another question: Is it worth changing cat on a test pipe. For example on to this one: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...ory_Code=VVWTK. Is it just a bolt on solution or I have to deal with some none foulers like in this article http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2511177.phtml.
Sorry me if I'm asking what is already written in the forum, but I didn't find the proper posts with answers.
Why use k04 but not k03/04 gybrid?
What diameter of piping to use for the exhaust (3" as I understood)? What resonator and muffler to use? I want to go custom with this - because this work is rather cheap in my country. I don't want my car making a loud nasty squeak sound.

you can run a ko4 on stock software, but its gonna be ****.

test pipe is good, and its a bitch to install from what i hear.

the k03/04 i assume your talking about its the one from the 2001.5 1.8t (the ko3 sport). you wouldnt want that because it doesnt give the power you are looking for: 170 at the crank.

you can do a magnaflow muffler with custom piping, or remus.

Skip the GT2X. Go with the K04, GTRS, or GT2871R.

Does garrett gt28r directly bolts on to a stock manifold? What about k04?
And could please anybody explain in detail why to go chipped after changing turbo no to implement setup like avc-r+s-afc?

Go with a k04. I wouldn't run a k04 without proper software for too long.

As I understood the maximum from the k04 is 255chp, while gt28r can be at 300chp.

Ok its simple, the k04 is the size of ummm your fists put together, while the gt28rs is the size of your head, thats where the power difference comes from, and actually your looking at 310-330 whp with the gt28rs..... as for why you need a chip its simple, more air goes in you need more fule, and the stock program is no where near ok for a bigger turbo, with the stock program you will be running lean as **** with either turbo and making no more power than stock.......

You didn't get an idea. First of all I'm talking about gt28r not gt28rs

Reed my posts more carefully. What I'm asking could the bigger turbo K04 or sm. else be rulled not by the updated ECU, but by APEXI'S (or some other brand) electronics, AVC-R with S-AFC for example.

why would you want the gt2560r its not nearly as efficient as a gt28rs and only marginally bigger than the k04 which is pointless, if you go with k04 yea you can do a standalone fuel system but it would be pointless to do when there is so much r&d gone in to perfecting the j-31 and p-16 file for the k04 and they make max power so why would you want something else when it will cost just as much and you have to tune it running the risk of ******* your motor up......the two major upgrades are the k04 and gt28rs/gt2871rs anything other than those hasn’t really been proven and tested to have the quality we would want
