Default Turbo and Superchargers

So I've looked around, and I can't find any answers to this. I know I can't do it (otherwise there would be a LOT more modded 2.8's runnin around) but WHY can't I just custom fab up anyold super/turbo charger to the 2.8...?
Sorry guys, havn't had anything but a naturally aspirated Escape [sm=smiley16.gif]

I can fit a centrifical meant for the VR6 on a 12V but you would have to get someone to tune it.

sfordeso, to add a turbo to a 2.8 would cost you as much as selling your car and buying an S4.
