Default turbo and tiptronic

All,

I had a 3.0 tip A4 and was reading some posts about mods available for the car. I realized the only way to go is supercharger it if you really want to see some HP increase. Unfortunately, my car is tip transmission which may not be able to handle the SC and most importantly, I don't want to deal whole new problems after supercharged.

Here is my question, if I get a 1.8T (or maybe a 2.0T) with tip transmission, can I upgrade to a bigger turbo? Can the transmission be able to handle the pressure? I can't go stick because my wife needs the car once in a while.

Thanks.

I have also heard a LOT of bad things about them... one of them being that they really don't do anything but re-paint the TC and put thier stickers on it.

We have a few people on these forums running a TIP and a K04 turbo setups. I would not suggest running anything above the K04 (which is basically anything else). I installed my K04 at about 75k miles and currently (103K miles) have not had any issues related to the upgrade. For the people who have to share their car with someone who does not drive manuals or they just got a deal on a TIP this is a great option. PM me if you want more information

they say that the Tip chip will give the tranny some more strength, but i think it is BS.

i would just recomend the tip chip because it is fun and it makes the tip more fun to drive

I was debating the TIP Chip becuase of some really crazy shifting I was getting but I found disabling DSP with a Vagcom resolved the issue.

Still may get it since its only $200 but we will see. I need other things first.
