I am new here but I want your opinion about turbo upgrade on AUDI A4 1.8T, model year 1997. I am going to buy GT3071R-WG Dual BB, 86AR, 90 Trim Turbine, i will also change manifold, injectors 580cc, FMIC from evo, new forged Pauter rods, fuel pump, short shifter, custom exhaust.... I am asking you if any from you have expirience with this turbo and do you recommend to change something more? I want to get at least 400 HP from this setup, maybe 450 we will see

wow that is a big turbo do u think you will have the room for that? no body here has any crazy setups like that but good luck with that let us know how it works out

 

I'm guess u are useing a custom program hith this and also where are u getting this manifold from ?

 

Manifold is from ATP and chip is custom. I hope everything will go ok. Yeah it is a big turbo at ATP they have already installed it in A4 so I will also So do you think I should change something more? I don't know how much lag I will have so I think at 3500 rpm it will go crazy. Somebody I know put GT2871R inside so I have to do better.

What are you doing for programming? this is a big turbo and esp with the .86 will be very very laggy almost unstreetable, I'm assuming your building a 2.0 when you say new rods and everything, if not forget it and get smaller turbo. This has already been done by tunerb5 on a/w (i think thats his name) he went with standalone, a built block, dbc conversion including pedals tb and all other important things. He also blew his motor last week. Good lcuk and keep us posted. BTW thats going to cost a very pretty penny, and you better get proper programming otherwise...BOOM

 

yeah that was my question - is this a daily driver? if it is then old ladies in Dodge Caravans will beat you from stoplight to stoplight with the turbo lag you will experience.

 

Yup, honestly if your looking to top your friend go with a gt2871 .86...even though that will even be laggy on the 1.8

The gt3071 .64 isn't spooled until 4600rpm btw, can't imagine the .86

 

i seen a garret GT30 in an a4. but do u have alot of money to spend

 

For programming I have profesional tuner who will tune my car and do the dyno and everything else. For parts I have already a deal and I am waiting them to arrive, so hopefully in one month I will report, what will happen. At ATP dyno graphs I saw that they are spooled at 4000 rpm, we will see if not I will go change turbo to GT2871R. Beacuse everything else fits. Look the graph, file attached. We just tuned K04-26 with little modificatins and we achived 302 HP and it is fantastic it is pulling like rocket. On the GT2871R we did not do the chip yet.

The car will also be for daily driving and I will compete in drag racing this year. They will not have a chance to pull from me.
