the gt2x is a great turbo for alot of low end torque and having a longer powerband than a stock turbo. Its not the biggest turbo, but will be an improvement. Renn-art sells complete kits with Revo or Unitronic tuning on their website.

ive heard gt2x isn't as reliable of turbo as others.

may as well spend a couple hundred more dollars and get a gt28rs

i would take a gt2x for its no lag and tons of tq over a laggy gtrs, now a real gt28rs .64 or .63, thats another story.

laggy gtrs, im assuming you mean a elim. gtrs?

is the only difference between the elim gtrs and the real one as far as installing it the manifold? if i went for the real gtrs instead of the elim. would the only thing i have to do is buy a new manifold and new downpipe?

gtrs is a elim and a gt28rs is a REAL garrett. The housings dont flow as nice so you get the lag and the lack of power. The gt2x is a gt20 turbo and it is so small the housing works well with it. If you go gt28rs you need everything new, oil/coolent lines, manfold, dp, and intake.

well, since im planning on buying a high flow manifold and 3" dp instead of 2.5 would it be worth it for me to buy the real kit instead of the gtrs because the only thing extra i would have to buy is the oil/coolent lines.

will my carbonio intake be fine?

i would get a t25 .64 if i was you. you would spool faster than the gtrs by far and make more power than the gt71r. You will be changing everything already, might as well get better parts. the only elim i think is decent is the gt2x for someone looking for no more lag and a decent increase in power.

t25 turbos are good for gt28rs and gt2871rs. If you ever think you may want bigger, you should get a t3 .63 since it will be better now and later, but will cost more since you still will need a external wastegate.
