my friends audi is all messed up.. lol he called me this mornging and told me 3rd gear is gone.. (thinks its a bad syncro) wanted me to find out how much a used one was and how much a new one was and i dont really know where to look. where can he get a used tranny? also his dash lights or the gauge cluster shuts off and turns back on once in a while.. anyone know what the problem might be?

Maybe he is unintentionally hitting the button on the wiper stalk. I've done that before.

 

dude tell him to go with the 2.8 tranny it will be much nicer gear wise and check car-part or anyother audi dismantler

 

THe syncroes don't really go out to much, its more of the gear. If "3rd is missing" its not the syncroes. As for finding a used one. just check around. Also call your local junkyards and ask, they may know someone.
