Default two questions

im not sure if these things are supposed to happen, i hava 99 2.8 quattro, i dont think this happened before but you know the sound like a alarm the car makes when you leave the keys in or the headlights are on when you open the door? well before i even have the keys in or the headlights on or anything, if my driver side door is open and i push on the brake the alarm thing sounds... it also does this after the car is turned on and the door is open with my foot on the brake. is this supposed to happen, its a little anoying, bc sometimes i turn on the car and stuff before i close the door and i dont hink it did this before.

secondly when i have my headlights on at night, you know the rear light that up behind the the passenger seats in the back, the one against the rear window... well that is always on when i am driving with my head lights on, and then when i push on the brakes it jsut gets brighter, im not sure if this is supposed to happen, when i push the brake no extra lights come on the all just get brighter.

im not sure but i think maybe these things didnt happen before and might have something to do with some bulbs a swapped around in my rear tail lights.

are these two things normal?

ok not sure about the car alarm thing. but I can help with the bulbs and third brake light. in your tails there are two different kinds of bulbs. one has one sensor on the bottom (blinker and rear fog). the other has two sensors (brake lights). the third brake works off of the left rear tail ( i beleive) it sounds to me like you've got some bulbs mixed up in that tail. check it out and make sure all the bulbs are in the right spot and that you have the right bulbs for each. I had this smae problem and it turned out that I had a regular bulb in for the brake light bulb.

i think you are right on there smokeU, bc i had swapped two bulbs around bc one wasnt working too good, it had like a warped metal area on the bottom of the bulb where the electricity goes through. thanks man i just need a new bulb i guess. and maybe the swapping ahs something to do with the bulb two bc i think they started at the same time
