Default type of timing belts?

hey all
i did read most of the newer timing belt questions, but i dont think this one was asked.....well i called my local mechanic and he said he would change my timing belt for 5-600 bucks, which seems cheap as all hell....if its this cheap, i was wondering, is there a "better" timing belt i can get? or is there just a generic timing belt? does it really matter?
thanks

You want to buy a kit.

Here is what you want to replace:

timing belt
tensioner
water pump impellar
water pump belt
serpentine belt
a/c compressor belt

The kit runs about 250-300 depending where you buy it. (ecstuning.com has them)

If he will replace all this for 600 or even a little more, including parts, then you are getting a good deal.
