Default Undercarige

When I was driving home today from a show... I noticed that I was draging something... I pulled over and it was the plastic bottom piece that I guess covers the bottom of the engine... I tried to put it back up but there was a piece that was broken that just sags so I took it off... I was wondering is this important? Should I put it back up? I also noticed that it seemed a little greasy or oily is this bad? Or is it something not to worry about since it is something in the bottom and it gets alot of dust and stuff from the road... THANKS GUYS!!!

its just the skid plate. its prevents damage to the engine oil pan, as for the greasyness its just probably old oil which dripped on to it. as long as you dont off road your good.

lol, ya now the bottom of your car is exposed so any rocks/ditches/roadkill/etc that you run over has a chance to make direct contact with whatever is under there (oil pan, tranny, etc) its not bad for little rocks to get under there but just watch out for big ditches and animals, lol.

most people just take it off its not really going to make that big of a difference............. or you could get the tank skid plate that squirrels and small animals fear from dieselgeek or something like that

you are fine without it. If you really do hit something hard, it really isnt going to protect your oil pan anyways. Plus, if your car is modded, and you work on it a lot, it is just one less thing to take off everytime you work on it...
