transverse, you didn't make your point at all to me. race cars have wings because they're functional for those applications. they are not functional for street cars...unless youre talking about lambos, ferraris, etc. and we're not saying aftermarket rims are rice. we're saying blingin rims are rice. read more carefully trans.

umm...maybe you should read more carefully...I said only the application of wings can be deamed rice...did I not? I think I did..yep..its right there. I also did not say every body kit was doing it right, now did I? Fiberglass...gonna crack. Styling is subjective to each individual..when did you become god? The reason I stated something about wheels is that you seem to be taking everything you've ever seen and calling it rice just because it was found on a honda civic. Grow up, not all honda civics are crap..look at the damn car before you judge it you pompous *****. Get your head outta your *** for 5 seconds to realize you're partaking in the same damn hobbies as people who tune hondas. Neuspeed ring any bells? Audi's are great cars, they don't need a lot of modding because they already have beautiful and function...too bad people like you have to drive them with your know it all attitude. People like you give our cars a bad name cuz you convey an attitude or arrogance.

bottomline..people can do whatever the hell they want with their cars...agp just happened to be curious about a visual mod that in my opinion may look great at a show.

jesus christ transverse, calm your *** down. from the looks of this thread, i think it's safe to say that my view on this particular "mod" seems to be the consensus, so don't get on my case. i never once said anything about "knowing everything," i'm just giving my two cents on the subject, which is exactly what you're doing, so do me a favor and [sm=shutup.gif]

Thats what makes Audis and BMWs stand out, they are classy and people dont/ shouldnt put decals, underglow, wings, and all that stuff on them.

And you're talkin about getting a grille without an audi logo on it? People shaving their emblems off the back...tinting windows and taillights...its just modding. Whether a particular mod looks good or not depends. autocrosser's got his decal. panda added a spoiler and bodykit. a mod is a mod and if it makes the modder feel good in the end then happier be their days. I need to see something before I judge it...that means on a case by case basis. There are some general rules..like a wing made out of wood bolted to the trunk of an Audi would make me cringe..but these rules are different for everyone. Stereotypes are unacceptable and inexcusable.

Sorry BFlan for my rage. I was out of line for yelling at you. I just can't stand it when people judge things they have never witnessed or experienced. Whether you have or not in this particular instance is beyond my knowledge. If so, then you have a basis for comparison. If not, I strongly urge you to keep an open mind. I would be willing to bet money that Audi themselves have used underglow at a car show. Think about it...revolving floor with a brand spankin new S4. Pitch black in the room and the white underglow lights come on. In my head that'd be pretty slick. Alas I'm done. Thanks panda.

it's all good trans, different strokes for different folks. we both have our rules for determining rice or not, good or bad, ugly or beautiful. my rules are just more broad. some may call them stereotypical, but that's just me. youre right, stereotypes may not be excusable, but they do exist, and more often than not the stereotypes are correct. very rarely have i seen a wing that i like, but granted, there are good wings out there. every stereotype has its exceptions, but not very many imo.
