Default UPDATE- CEL CODES POSTED~seafoam through vacuum line - CEL now

So, I just ran seafoam through the vacuum line and the car smoked up my whole neighborhood. It seemed to work real well..... Now, I have cleared all the smoke and the engine is idling really smooth, but I have a check engine light on. I assume this is not normal, since I did a search and it doesn't seem like anybody got a CEL from doing seafoam. I am bout to change the plugs this afternoon, but I was wondering about the CEL. Can I just unplug the positive cable on the battery, or is something really wrong here?

Your CEL may just be a misfire DTC if the car sputtered when it was sucking up the Seafoam.

Yeah, it sputtered while sucking it up. According to the diy that is normal though. I didn't let it get flooded though...the car never shut off on its own.

You can still get misfires without the car stalling on you, I'm pretty sure that's what the CEL is. If you can't scan it, the CEL may go away on it's own after a few cycles.

Sorry for the confusion...I did not put it through a vacuum line. I hooked it up right to the intake manifold as in the diy...

Still have the cel though...

Drive a few cycles, and see if it clears.
