Upgrading to Heated Seats
I just bought a 2002 Avant 3.0 Quattro Wagon. It does not have heated seats, but would like to upgrade. Is such an upgrade available, are the seats pre-wired, where would I get the upgrade and how much?
Certainly appreciate any help.

If you want factory you well be paying out the nose, But the stock you car is missing many things to have heated seats, first you need the seats, then the controle unit might need to be replaced, or you might get away with re codeing it, alost the upper counsole area well need to be replaced with one with the heated rotary thing in there. but thats all if you go factory. good day
I'm sure that I would need a new control unit. The ***** for adjusting the heat are located on the HVAC control unit. Mine does not have these controls. I would think that the seats are pre-wired and you could insert the control unit and connect the wiring. It would not make OEM sense to do otherwise (costs for such differences aren't usually included.
Ok after some researching...
All of the A4's are pre wired for the seat heaters. The seats do not have the heater included though. You would have to add the new climate control and the heater elements. It would be much cheaper to go aftermarket. They can install the switch in a hidden place so it doesn't look crappy.

take a look at www.katzkin.com from there you will see a link for adding heated seats to your ride for $150 per seat. Good luck!
