Used a4 or used a3?
I'm fairly new to Audis but I'm looking to purchase a wagon in the next couple of months. I've been noticing that sometimes I've come across a price of an '09 or '10 A4 Avant that seems to be the same or even at times less expensive than an '09 or '10 A3 with comparable mileage. Can anyone propose a reason for this?
I've been seeing prices of around 31k for both of these in the 'premium' (not 'premium plus') level. Obviously they aren't Quattro versions.
Any explanations? Is there something about A4s or A3s for that matter that warrants an explanation for this?

Don't know about 09, 10 but the '11 ones I am sure to choose A4 if price the same with A3 because the standard equipped the A4 is better than A3, A4 is longer and has bigger 2 row back seat space. The A4 tranny is 8-speed tip while A3 is 6-speed... A4 has 11 more HP and more torque, standard power & leather seats. New car price A4 is $5.5k more (36.3k vs 30.8k) than A3.
I do prefer the a4. I think what it comes down to is whether or not I feel comforrtable with one that has 30,000 miles vs an a3 with 15,000. Is 30k miles a lot for an Audi? Keep in mind that I tend to out only 6 to 7k a year on my cars (I live in NY).
