used audi a4
i can buy a used 2001 audi a4 with 60k miles on it for about 13k...is this a good deal. i also hear a lot about the audi's not being reliable due to the turbos, belts, etc. how can i make sure it is going to be reliable, are there going to be any warranties, etc.? thanks
Welcome to the forums... What kind of A4 is it? we need all the details. I wouldnt worry about the turbo going out. Just make sure the timing belt was replaced that needs to be done at 60k mile intervals. If you buy it from a private party there wont be any warranties if you are looking for the most reliable then get the 2.8 like a 96 those are the best
by the way I got my 02 audi 1.8t FWD for $17000 from a dealer with 32000 miles on it.

Before buying a used Audi esp from a used car dealer or private party have it checked by a VW/Audi independent mechanic.
Common problems are Squeeks/ clunks from front end (Tie rods and control arms), wheel bearings (grinding from wheel wells), engine sludge on 1.8T for cars that haven't had good maintenance,
As stated, if the timing belts hasn't been changed, be prepared for a 750 bill to change it. Consider the price accordingly.
If you want to modify your car, go with the 1.8T.
Whenever you buy a used car, be metally prepared to put in an extra 1500 dollars for undisclosed/undiagnosed problems.
I purchased my 2000 1.8TQ/tip/xenon/cold weather package/interior package with 75K miles in 2004 for 11.5. Body and interior would qualify as good (scratches in paint, nicks on bumper, interior bumps and scratches.
