V6 30v Camshaft Tool
I'm kinda in a bind... I finally found a mechanic in my area (daytona) that will do my timing belt/water pump install. One problem.... he does not have the proper camshaft aligning tool (see link below) and will not touch it w/o one. Does anyone know how I could get my hands on one, besides buying one??? I guess I was wondering if someone had one to rent?????
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... I just hit 61k miles on my 89 A4 30V and I'm want to do it ASAP...

If the 12V and the 30V use the same tool, I have a friend who loaned me his.

I am looking at one on ebay, but it's 75$ already and there are 4 days left.....

I found a mechanic that has a shop less than a mile from my house. He has all the tools and has done several A-4's (5v).
I'm gonna get this done:

snub mount
tensioner/pully
water pump
valve cover gaskets
oil fill gasket (leaking)
new spark plugs
new spark plug wires*
front oil seal*
serpentine belt*
fresh radiator fluid
* if needed
anything else???

What is a good first mod???? After I get all this shizzz done I want to start doing some upgrades...
I was thinking of an intake
and definately the lights you got from ECS... they are sweet!!!!
then it's wheels..... I was thinking 18 inch is prolly the biggest you want to go on this vehicle, what do you think??
Well you'll want to lower the suspension with coilovers or shock/springs before you add 18" wheels, otherwise you will be driving a monster truck. Yeah 18's are about as large as you want to go, 19's may rub.
Have you considered chiping the car yet? The only other really decent mod is the supercharger but that is 4-5 grand!
Keep in mind with the lights, there will be a little cutting of the fender (can be done with dremel).

I build freestyle jet skis and have no fear of the dremel... I also do my own paint and body and engine work.
