Ok so this is smokeU. I need some help with VAGing my buddies 2004 S4. we have the program downloaded but we cant get it to read the car. Is it because I have the version for my A4? it seems like its not even reading the car. but then I tried it on mine and we couldnt get it to read. what do I have to do to get the computer to read the car? please help! thanks.

Make sure the computer recognizes the cable.
Go to Program Options from the VAG-COM main menu.
Select Com port.
Click Test.
A window should pop up saying everything is tested.
Close the window.
Click Apply.
Click Save.
Exit to Main Menu.
Try Again.
Go to Program Options from the VAG-COM main menu.
Select Com port.
Click Test.

its the ebay one. but everyone said it would work. I dont think the computer and the car were communicating. like the comp wasnt recognizing the cable was there. do you have to have the cable plugged in before you start the comp? we got the installation wizard thing but it kept giving an error message. $#!7!
