Buy a Bently Audi CD and it will give you all the codes and more. Check the Vagcom Yahoo group for a lot of great info. The Ross Tech site has good info too.

The Vag Com is Audi specific. You can't use it on other brand cars. It will read any code that comes out of you Audi.

The VAG has saved me money in the year that I've owned it. You mainly save the cash when you are out of warranty.<edited><editID>brrman</editID><editDate>37925.4092361111</editDate></edited>

I believe the book has everything that is contained on the cd. However a cd is nice cuz you can print out diagrams and then write em up and scribble on em while you work...

But either way you will get the same in fo as far as I know. Yeah the Bently is a repair manual. It gives you anything you need to know when diagnosing if something is going wrong. Really is something you should not be without if you plan to work on your car yourself.

Hah hah - My ***** are always dancing! I found that icon somewhere on the web - can't remember offhand.

Wow man theres alot on this CD its ganna take some time to figure out how to navagate this program some times i just go in circles. but im finely narrowing down my problem. possible faulty EVAP canister purge valve or blocked evap line. also when I test the fuel return for leaks it always says abort but it might be related to my evap system prob. man this shiznit is complicated</P>

anyone had similar probs maybe its a common thing?<IMG src=smileys/smiley24.gif border="0"></P>

The oil plug is right up front, directly behind the bumper. You have to remove the plastic cover that protects the underside of the engine.

The oil filter is a major PITA to change on a 1.8t. You have to get your arm up under the engine with the wrench - the whole while oil is dripping in your face.

<FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=blue size=2>Yeah so I finaly fixed my car right. Man Id be lost without that Bentley CD</FONT></P>

<FONT color=#0000ff size=2>I had a very interesting problem; First the cause of the problem is my turbo its pissing a good amout of engine oil into my intake Ive got oil all the way into my intake manifold, where the problem starts as some of you know there happens to be a vac line almost under the throtle body, which happens to be the line from the evap purge valve </FONT></P>

<FONT color=#0000ff size=2>So the oil was building up on one side of the vac check valve when the purge valve was closed and eventualy gummed up the check valve enough that it wouldnt open. Case solved</FONT></P>

<FONT color=#0000ff size=2>Though you can guess my surprise when I disconected my vac line and thick gummy oil drained out I was like WTF but everythings good now except maybe my turbo.</FONT></P>

<FONT color=#0000ff size=2>I wonder how long my turbo will last?</FONT></P>

its likely your turbo oil lines - not your turbo. It will kill your turbo over time though. Have it checked out.
