Default vag-com results... ?

Hey guys,
Im new to the Audi world, I recently purchased a 2000 1.8t from an Audi dealership. It runs great but the ABS and brake light come on in a blinking sequence. I have heard a few sounds telling me that it could be the rotors, but I'am not too sure. I have searched the forums and found that it could be many things, but mostly with the ABS. So i went to have it scanned (not at Audi) and no error codes came up...any tips or suggestions? or should I take it to the stealership right away?

Thanks Alot

Probably the ABS conrtol unit (woah dejavous) Thats odd there are no codes. Check your fluid level. If it just started happening, give it another week and a code may show up. What do you mean "sounds"? Like grinding? Check your pads before anything else.

You'll need to scan with a VAG-COM

If its the ABS unit, there is a guy on Audiworld or Audizine that reconditions them for alot cheaper than a new unit will cost you.

Check your front and rear brake pads to see if they are worn down. Not all problems are electronic.

If there are no codes that show up that its probably not the ABS control unit?

There are no codes because generic OBD scanners (eg Autozone) only scan for engine emission codes. They do not scan for codes related to brakes, transmission, HVAC.

Have it scanned with a VAGCOM.
