hello folks, i;m new to this forum, i have a question regarding vent lighting and glovebox lighting on my newly aquired a4 b6, every thing work fine apart from these 2 things... has anyone suffered from this problem or is it a dealer thing???

Could you please be more specific to the question regarding the vents and glovebox lighting? Is it that the ambient lighting around the vents (the airflow control ****) and the light in the glovebox isn't working? If so, then your dealer should be able to address the problem.

Don't forget to CHECK HERE to get up to speed on all of the terminology and other technical terms used here. It will help to make your stay here more enjoyable.

 

As I stated in your other thread, take it to the dealer and have it done through warranty.

 

thanks for the advise guys, but the cars out of warranty, it do too much milage. i was hopeing some one knew where the ground point was for the glovebox light and vent lighting, i've got the wireing diagram for the can but dont realy want to rip the dash apart looking for the ground, theres power at the lighting points but no ground??? also i'd rather not take it to the dealers for something so small...

 

most likely a fuse?

 

cheers brrman... i've double checked the fuses, from what i can tell fuse 2 is the 'glovebox illumination' fuse.... missing, and theres only one terminal within that fuse...hummmm interesting.... this make me think either AUDI didnt wire it up or its been removed.... i double checked the fuse connection by pulling out the fuses housing, could someone check there fuse box....
