what should the volt meter be at? my a4 batt volts go up to around 14v if i dont have the ac fans running or the lights on.

lol ive never had a car with a volt meter... i thought 12v is normal.... so 14 volt is ok then? i didnt know if there was something wrong with the charging system... i thought 14 was a little on the high side,

so does "OK" mean that 14-14.5 volt is normal?

 

its roughly 2.2v a cell 2.2*6=13.2 so your good

 

With engine running voltage will be around 14 volts, this is normal. The alternator has to put out a higher voltage than the battery so the battery will charge/stay charged.
