Default Warnin' lights a' flashin'

So I go start my car, press the brake, and drive off, suddenly "BEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP", I look down and to my disgust there are two yellow warnings flashing:

1. looks like (O)
2. Looks like a stick figure with a circle around it

What are these, how do I get rid of them?

probably the brake indicater. the front pads are the only ones that have it so its those, but check your rear while your at it.

On the Passats, the rear brakes actually wear out far faster than the fronts. I ASSUME A4s are similar in this regard. You do need a special tool to rotate the rear caliper pistons as you retract them.
