Hey ppl. I opened my dash cluster to see if my CEL bulbwas blown or something since it wasnt poping up when i was turning the ignition to ON and to my suprise there was no CEL bulb or trck for it to work.

Its a 97 A4 1.8T Quattro and i live in New Zealand. This is a euromodel i think, imported.

 

Did the 97 a4 come with CEL??? Thot all them should have???

But as you can see in the third pic there is no tracks for the CEL bulb. I can screw it on but its not going to work since there is nothing for the contacts to touch on...Is this possible?? If the Euro model came out with no CEL, is kinda wierd.

 

did your guys 97 a4 1.8TQM cme out with CEL?? I live in New Zealand and think my one is a import?

 

Ha...I took my CEL bulbout in my 92 Prelude because it annoyed the hell out of me and I couldn't diagnose it.

Your previous owner must have had the same idea.

 

i have a 97 1.8T also and the last owner did the same thing he took out the CEL but im positive you should of had a CEL someone took it out .. there's no way your car has none

 

weird. i have never herd of there not being one unless the po took it out. my cel was always on. i got more nervouse when it turned off then when it stayed on.

 

i have seen threads talking about cars being broke cause the light went out, and people offering their service for a slight fee to get it turned back on
