The 2.8L V6

Shouldnt most people already know that our 1.8T is prone to sludge? Thats why I only use synthetic...though thats all I've ever used in my cars

Correction: Its a Volkswagen And if you know you reliable European car companies, Volkswagen isnt one of them (in general, but i love them none the less)

And in general you dont have to worry about it. Regular, frequent oil changes prevent the problem, as well as running full synthetic

basically if youre a car lover and you take care of your baby, you'll be fine...the only thing that will cause oil sludge is negligence

Yes, it's absolutely disgusting that Audi engineers screwed up on the single most important factor affecting engine life - oil change frequency/capacity ... makes me wonder what else they f*cked up on my car ...

Well, I guess I should consider myself lucky. 4 Audis, 3 A4s later, 2 latest ones still in the garage. All were bought new. No Oil Sludge problems whatsoever. First was a '97 2.8. Still have a '01 1.8T and an '03 2.8. All cars were dealer/self maintained regularly.
I think if a car is well maintained with regular oil changes, this shouldn't be a factor. And yes - buy the quality stuff - your Audi deserves it.
