okay guys i have a 1.8 manual 01.5 with 71k miles on it.

this is my problem, Other than in 1st gear and sometimes second , whenever i would accelerate the RPM's would just rev and i dont gain any speed, and if i do its really a slow acceleration until it "slips" the rpms drop and i get normal acceleration.

This doesnt happen if i accelerate gradualy. only if i press on the gas kinda hard, not too hard but enought for a nice boost.

This happens every time i drive now. Its really dangerous because i cant accelerate for ****.

when it happend to me yesterday i decided to see if it was going to "catch on" but the rpm's just reved and after i let go of the gas i smelled like something was burning.

This doesnt happen if i accelerate gradually.

From the sound of it its ur clutch? The burning smell, Does it smell like *** literally cause thats what my oem clutch smelt like when i burnt it. Try starting it on third gear if it doesnt move releasing the clutch slowly then its def ur clutch just have a mechanic do it. ALSO BIG BIG MISTAKE I DID was not replace the throw out bearing when i changed my clutch let me remind u HOW BIG of a mistake that was. Now its gone and i have to redo the whole job again meaning i have to spend another 400 instead of spening and extra 65 at the time dont let this happen to u. DO IT i wish someone told me to do it, or atleast the mechanic.

 

yikes, **** it smells like something mechanical going bad. more like metal to metal..

 

ya time to get a new clutch. do u have any mods?

Labor about $500.00 (well where i went) i kow u got a hard on for RENN-ART so they'll def be mroe pricy prolly 550.00 to 600.00

Where did you get your clutch done for $400? I got a quote of $1500 from my independent audi mechanic. He said it was an 11 hour job. It was for a stage 2 clutch though.

Oh, and I thought it was going out but turns out it was just hot. I was trying to start on a really really steep hill .

 

this doesnt sound very good...and renn-art has some amazing customer service..i cant wait to get my fmic piping done by them.....better be amazing.
