weird smell
If you go to the dealer with the complaint they will use a product similar to "Frigi-Fresh". Which is a very stong microbial spray. Here's what you need: Some paper towels or napkins, tape (if you can get it to stick to the dash), a can of Lysol (or equivalent). The cabin filter will NOT fix the problem, but you should replace it. Tape (or you can stuff small wads into the corners to get it to stay if the tape won't stick) the paper towels over the dash vents on the drivers side, center and passenger side, it is important to still have a decent amount of air flow through the towels. Remove your cabin air filter. Put the blower fan all the way up with the heat on HI, make sure the towels stay over the vents. Make sure all air is flowing to the dash vents only. Then take the Lysol and spray it down into the blower fan (under the cabin filter) in 3-5 second bursts. Keep spraying until you've used about 1/3 of a normal sized can of Lysol. Let the heat keep going for about 15 minutes and then you can remove the towels and replace the cabin filter and not have to worry about having a mold smell in your car anymore. If you don't want to use Lysol, auto part stores sell sprays specifically for this problem. If you use any of those, they will come in a small spray can, use the whole can.
