Thanks for all the help in understanding the pros/cons of the Audi vs the Saab. I'm happy to say that last night I bought a 2004 A4 3.0 Quattro with 40k on the clock. Besides me working the dealer over the past 4 weeks, besides the fact that this car had been on the lot the whole time - I got a silly deal on it and I'm not sure exactly why. There is only one thing about it that looks out of the norm....

It's white without painted lowers.

The car is in amazing shape, certified and all, has tan leather, wood, etc - it is fairly loaded and extremely tight. I picked it up for about what a 2003 A4 1.8T with similar miles is going for these days. Clean carfax.

Anything to worry about the non-painted lowers? I thought on the 04s they were painted?

Only mod I have planned is the AVIC D2 - which needs to happen sooner than later...

I'm pretty sure it was 04.5 that got the painted lowers same for the 6 spds on the 1.8T's it was 04.5

Just get those lowers painted and it will look even better!

 

One of the saab arguments was over the (ugly) saab cockpit.
