Hello,

just bought a 2004 A4 Convertible and I can't seem to figure out what this component on the dash is for.

Looks like the 'Door' front should hinge open but can't figure it out and don't want to apply too much force since every ABS plastic component on this car is fragile.

Usually you push. Didn't have that in my b5 sedan, just everything beneath it.

 

It's a storage area. Presumably for sunglasses.
Push up on the silver buttons and it should pop open (it flips up).
