Hey guys I just took off my bumper and i found this dangling. What do you think it is? Is it for the fog lights? I'm supposed to have fog lights but the car i got was used. carfax said it was in a minor incident and i have a feeling he hit someone and got a bumper without fog lights. what do you think? Thanks.

it was for foglights... iv seen a few cars that have had replaced bumpers without foglights, dont know why

EDIT: does your car have the foglight button/switch in the dash?

 

i believe on pre 99.5 cars with the two piece headlights had the fogs built into the headlamp

 

i'm 2001 1.8t and i have the fog light buttons. front and rear buttons, rear fog light works when i push the front button and the rear button but since there is no fog lights in my bumper for the front no fog lights.

 

yea thats what it was... well at least you know if you ever upgrade your bumper you can get one with fog light housings and put fogs in

 

Also this was sitting in the bottom of my bumper when i removed it. Where might it go?

thats a tough one but it looks like it was to position and adjust the angle of the fog lights? just a guess tho

 

Ok cool thanks for you info. Now my next question is that connection is on the front left of the car. the front right doesn't have one (Atleast i didnt see one) Do you still think its for the fog lights? Does one connection power both?

 

Is there a horn on the left side of the car, i know mine has one over there maybe if its not the fod its your horn and they never put one back on that side..... I know mine was unpluged and was just chilling there for some reason
