A lot of people on this board talk about 'chipping' and I have no idea what they are talking about. What is a chip? What does it do to the car? Sorry I don't know about this stuff but I think I am becoming a car enthusiast and trying to learn about this stuff.

 

a chip is soldered into your ecu and remaps your fuel system, basically it just makes your car run the way it was meant to run, since the motors are detuned before they leave the factory....it gives you about 30-40hp, search the forums and you can learn all about the individual chips available for you car

It increases hp for you turbo engine by installing a small chip in your ECU....

guy at evolution sports priced me only like 300 for giac chip, but he said i should wait because they are coming out with a flash version soon, i guess..

 

I just had my GIAC chip installed at evolution and after tax and half hour labor = $580
