if you were looking to "get used to" your car before making it faster, you would get coilovers and a brake upgrade. that would allow you to learn how to drive the car a bit better, but those are also expensive. I hope you dont think the chip is going to allow you to beat the srt or even keep up with it, cuz it will still SMOKE YOU... That being said, the previous posters are correct in saying that the chip is the best first upgrade for the turbo a4's. you will be happy with the new power for at least 2 weeks, or in my case a few days. But if you spend all kinds of money on exhaust, intake, front mount, etc, you are going to have a nice sounding dog, none of those things will improve horsepower enough to notice it. As far as the boost controller goes, let that idea leave your head right now, this is not going to do good things. have fun and good luck. Btw, what is the info on your car, year? trans? quattro? we like to know these things.

Easiest way to look at this. Forum = Audi drivers and do'ers. SRT friend = Dodge. Chip it then start adding after that.

I just want to be able to beat all those little honda lovers a jdm kids who think they are hot sitting at a light revving there engine thinking its just a audi lol but that will be in due time gonan get a quote on a APR chip and DV. close to $600

you never answered my first post, do you have a hp goal for the car, are you going to drag or take it to the track, ect...

if you are going to get a big turbo setup later on, i would go with unitronic tune.

if you get it from APR probly 700, if you get the dv from the classifieds it will be like 75 plus chip from apr will be 500, or if your lucky and can find a ecu that matches yours in the classifieds (check other sites too like AZ and AW) you can get everything for 400-500

If you stay out of boost, yes the chip will help your gas mileage. Intake is a worthless first mod on a stock 1.8t, you will gain no more then 5 hp.
you dont have to stay out of boost. when your out of boost your makin the same mpg as a stock 1.8T. the chip makes the car run slightly leaner, while the factory chip has the car running richer. so the increase in fuel isn't as big as everyone thinks. also you get up to speed quicker, so you spend more time out of boost than in boost, thus helping your mpg. but if you floor it all the time (which you will when you first get the chip) you will have sh!tty mpg

well to get to 300hp your gonna need a BT. somthing like a GT28rs will net you 350hp but around 300 at the wheels. Thats my plans evetually but you will need other mods like bigger injectors, fmic, etc.. goodluck and btw i was thinking APR is a good chip choice, i believe just the chip is $400, than you will want afew files etc.. with the DV it all will rund you around $600 or so, depending if you can find used or get deals. Have fun and keep us posted.

I'm in Philly btw so if your ever around let me know. I'm still shopping for a car.
