Default What do i need for custom exhaust?

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before, but I searched for a few hours last night and and couldn't find much that pertains to what I need to know.

An exhaust set up is the very near future and would like to go custom. I just can't spend $1000 on an APR set up which is what I originally wanted. I would like to go cat back and I would stillneed to pass emissions here in CO. I'm thinking 2.5" diam for the piping and I've looked at aMagnaflow muffler as well. I would like to get all the parts I needso i could just take it to the shop I've used for repairs and such and have them install it. So here are my questions:

How much piping will I need?

Does anyone know what bends are necessary so I could just buyprebent piping and have it welded together?

Arethere any misc. parts that are needed to complete set up?

If I just wanted sound I would just buy the muffler and call it a day, so i am looking for performance gains.
Thank you in adavnce for your replies.

a custom shop should be able to do it all for you for fairly cheap. $500 or so...

So should I just get the muffler I want and let them do the rest?

yeah i would suggest picking out the muffler you want. Then tell the shop what size piping you want and keep the cat in...

OK, so I was looking to purchase my muffler and the inlet diam. on the universal mufflersMagnaflow offers is only 2.25. How do this work with the rest of the piping at 2.5? Wouldn't that constrict the flow going from 2.5-2.25? Does the 1/4 in. reallymatter? I'm not planning on going BT so maybe I should go with 2.25 the whole way. what do you guys think?

Look around Magnaflow's site a little more; I know they have mufflers with 2.5" inlets.

How loud would a custom exhaust such as what McGovs1.8B5is suggesting be? I've got a lot of riced out hondas in my town, I would really rather not blend in with them...
