Default What to do, What to do?

I'm gonna do a timing belt change soon and I want to upgrade the turbo at the same time. I know that if I go K04 my clutch should be able to hold the torque but if I go bigger I don't know if it will take the beating. Southbend rates my clutch for 290ftlb of torque and does not show any hp numbers. Should I just go K04 and save the extra money or do you think it's possible to go bigger on the clutch. I saw a picture comparison between the K04 and a GT28R and the K04 looks so dinky. I want a BIG turbo!

if your clutch can handle 290ftlbs, then it can handle a 28r and rs. So if you can swing the money for a REAL turbo, then get it. Both of those turbos will max out about that torque number on 20-22psi. Torque causes damage, ieblown clutches and rods, not hp.

deff 290 horse is a good rating for our cars you would need a serious engine build or B BT to crack teh 300tq mark.

Yea I still haven't gotten a response back from Southbend on how much it can hold. I want to upgrade the turbo onlyonce and that's it, aka I know I will eventually want more than a k04. I'll look into it I'll let you know my plan.

at most with a k04 you will see 260, maybe 280ftlbs. A gt28r and rs will both make right around 300ftlbs with 260-70hp(28r) and 290-300hp(28rs) respectively.

ur stock clutch csn handle alot but hp is not wut will kill ur clutch tq will kill ur tranny and clutch. just get a clutch that is stage 2 which is about 280 290 tq and u will b fine but big turbos cause big tune ups and checking ur car often bc sumthing always seems wrong.

did you read any of the thread or even your post?

He has a southbend clutch, you repeat what i said about torque breaking stuff not hp, and your post is just about unreadable.
