Im considering a carbon fiber hood for my 98. I dont really like the OEM carbon fiber ones, but i have found a few alternitives. The main one I am looking into is this one http://www.visracing.com/catalog/pro...products_id=48
or the ViS Invader. What do you think of them? Im also kinda worried about how the black carbon would look on my car. Its a wierd electric green color. Thanks for the opinions!

 

Other than weight benefits, I think carbon fiber hoods look dumb. Only when you are close up can you tell that its not just a gray hood taken from a junk yard if you know what i mean... Not matching color of the car. just mo

 

Nahhh. I dont think you should do it. Not worth the money IMO. Plus, it doesnt look good. Those little scoops are gross. I say keep your stock hood.

 

i personally like cf hoods. but i dont like that one. i like it to be like the stock hood. but if you get one i think the sides need to be painted. you know like along the lines of the hood. this same hood is all over ebay. probably cheaper too.

 

i don't like the scoops on that hood at all. they look nasty imo. i like CF hoods if they look somewhat stock. and i would definitely have it painted if it's going on a green car.

 

i dont like cf hoods in general, i think when im older and have an extremely fast car(which WILL happen), i will have cf hood and trunk (for the slight weight benifits) but i will paint them to match the rest of my car lol

 

how much weight will u knock off with a CF hood over OEM?

No, No, No, no... I can't put it any plainer than that... CF hoods are friggin crap... They look ****, and if you get a 'crap one' it will be as brittle as a great big bag of brittle things....
