Yeah, those are expensive if you just want brushed mirrors... but considering those mirrors are complete, that is prolly a fair price.

My mirrors on my 2000 are retarded... they are sorta peeling, on the drivers side. my dads 96 did the same thing, and it pisses me off that it never got fixed over the following 4 years.

 

chrome and metal sucks. use your money to improve performance dude. or get a hyundai and rice out!

 

well that isnt exactly rice... considering that is how the s4's came. I think on certain colours of cars, it is a nice touch. Speed is everything... especially for those of us who can't afford insurance/gas as it is.

I was about to purchase a pair but the seller said they are in back order for a month or two. Now, from the link provided by Jestnomen, there is a picture with silver A6 (maybe an A4) with brushed mirror caps. The brushed mirror caps don't stand out that much on silver, don't you think so? I'm wondering... will chrome stands out better on a silver color?

Also, I've received installation instructions. It said the mirror caps can be installed without remove the entire mirror set. Simply pry off the mirror and then remove three screws behind it and two screws on the bottom of the cap. Is it correct? Can I just pry off the mirror?

 

don't know about the installation, but even with silver I would stay with the matte finish.

 

I would still stay with the brushed finish, they look good evn if the car is Silver.

Check this out, it could probably give you an idea on the installation. Installation can differ depending on the mirror caps, but I believe is till more or less the same thing.
